baby shower bunting and bear

hi everyone. after a little two week break, i’m back blogging again.  i have sewn/made a couple of things, but they were both presents so i couldn’t put them online until the recipient had received them! the first thing was a tshirt for my mom.  i’m not going to blog about it because it was just copied from one she’s already got, but there’s a picture on my instagram if

i made a quilt!

hi everyone! last year, i bought a new sewing machine, a DKS100. (one day i will get round to writing a dedicated post to it!) it came with a quilting kit which set me off on a mission to make a quilt.  it was the kit, and the fact i am always cold to be honest. i didn’t do much research before i started (measurements etc) but knew the type of

simplicity blog video

making a new ironing board cover

bonjour internet! i was saving this job for my week of annual leave which is swifly approaching but i thought i might as well get it out the way, free up the week for more fun things! i bought my little ironing board from pound stretcher.  i needed a small ironing board because i sew mostly in my bedroom.  the space i’ve got is rather compact to say the least!

something a little bit different…

hi friends!     it’s been a while.  to be honest, i haven’t felt much like sewing, which is pants.     i was having some thread snapping problems with my sewing machine again, so i just gave up for a bit.   never fear, i’ve still been making things!  christmas craft more than anything, which i’ve been posting on instagram.  my username is @rach_wain if you want to have

wedding bunting!

hi everyone!   i’ve been waiting to blog about some bunting that i made for a wedding until i had some pictures of the bunting “in action”.   my cousin’s best friend got married last thursday, and i was asked to make the bunting for the decorations.  oh the pressure!   my cousin bought lots of half metres of different peaches and mint greens with different patterns from ebay.  they

organising my sewing things…

hello internet!   it was my birthday two days ago (yay!  i’m now the ripe old age of 23) and i got some money from various aunties, uncles and family friends, so i thought it called for some sewing shopping.   i went to my favourite sneaky hidden shop, and picked up a couple of things.  a pink chalk wheel, some thread to make my sew over it 1940’s tea

fabric shopping in london

after hearing all the hype about goldhawk road’s fabric shops, I decided to take a trip to the capital to see what it was all about. I mentioned to my mom (patron saint of sewing help) that I was going to go down, and she decided to come too. I’m glad she did, it was nice to have someone to say “ooo I love this!” to. I wasn’t disappointed! there’s

two posts in the same night?!

two posts in the same night, it’s a bit extreme.  however, i am SUPER excited about all things sewing, and seeing as no one else I know feels the same passion for sewing as i do, i’m putting it all on the internet as you do. i’ve just been on a bit of an ebay binge. after booking train tickets to go to london in a couple of weeks for
