hi everyone! a few weeks ago (maybe only two, but time feels slow sometimes!) colette posted a picture on instagram where they were doing the moneta and wren dress for 20% off. the picture of the moneta was a beautiful mustard colour and i fell in love. and i fell hard. i stopped myself buying mustard fabric on ebay, deciding i would look for the perfect fabric when i went
hey everyone! i’ve made a dress, yay! it’s been AGES. i thought my sewing machine was broken but it turns out my machine didn’t like the bobbin i was trying to use. it wasn’t pressing down on a metal bit that needs to go down before the bobbin winder will work. WHO KNEW. anyway, the wren dress. this is a lovely knit dress, with lots of shape and two options
hi everyone! I’m using a new app to blog with because the wifi on my laptop is being completely unreliable, so I’m sorry if the formatting is off, I’m still making my way through the tutorial videos! also, typing on my iPad is more difficult than I thought it would be…! so it’s a new dress but a pattern I’ve used a couple of times before for me to show
hi everyone! i’ve got my birthday dress to show you today, a denim laurel dress. there’s so much RTW stuff like this around now. the goal of my sewing is never to look handmade, so i like to reproduce stuff i like that you could buy on the high street, which is what i was aiming for with this dress. i wanted something new
hi everyone! today i’m showing off my latest super quick make – the colette mabel. i bought this pattern a little while ago, but hadn’t done anything with it. when i couldn’t find my laurel pattern (bit of a colette theme going on here, i think they’re my favourite pattern company!) i decided to give it a try. i chose to make the
THE SILENCE IS OVER. i’m yabbering on about an ACTUAL garment i’ve made; i’m as blown away as you are! i posted a little while ago about not feeling much like making clothes. a combination of a lack of time (which hasn’t stopped me in the past) a lack of inspiration (although i’ve got some nice fabric waiting to be used!) and just a lack of willpower.
hey guys! it’s the first day of me made may! i remember sitting here last year looking at everyone’s posts, being really impressed that people could ever have made that many clothes! this year i’m not doing the “pledge”. the last 6 months i’ve work mostly me-made stuff to work, so i’ll try and wear more me-made things at the weekend. here’s something to add
hi everyone! well this has been a kind of unplanned absence from the blog. In the time since I blogged last, I’ve been to orlando! It was so magical. I wore lots of me-made clothes and I’m glad I made so much! Moneta dresses saved my holiday (chubby legs and the hems of my shorts = excessive leg rub. Dubbed “chub rub”. not comfortable!) and my alder
bonjour everyone! today i present to you my favourite example of pattern placement to date; my 3rd moneta! i made this dress last weekend when we went to visit my boyfriend’s grandparents. i’d told his grandma about my overlocker and she asked me to take it with me for a sewing lesson, best ever! it’s safe to say, she now wants an overlocker!
hi everyone! after my success of the first moneta i made the other day, i thought i would make another one! it’s the first pattern i’ve done that with so far. probably because it’s so quick to make! this time i chose a lighter knit fabric from ebay. the quality isn’t wonderful, but what did i expect for 3 metres for £11 eh. my thread was cheap too.
