monet-a-storia

hi all! hope everyone is enjoying the unexpected october sunshine. this sunshine makes today’s make look a little silly because it’s very much an autumn/winter dress. also i realise you can see the reflection of all my washing in the window behind me. well at least if my mom reads this she’ll see that i do actually put washing outside, haha. it’s an astoria jumper with a moneta attached. AND

colette rue

hi everyone! i’m so so excited to show you what i’ve made today, so that means quite a long post! a few months ago, colette put out a post asking for pattern testers.  i filled in the form and forgot all about it.  a week or two ago, meg from colette got in touch asking if i wanted to make up their latest dress pattern!  i immediately said yes and couldn’t

sleeveless moneta 2!

hi everyone! when i like something i don’t mess around, so here’s my second sleeveless moneta, haha. i thought it would be really nice to take pictures outside in the sun, but it turns out my hair is casting a shadow over my face in all these pictures, haha. i got the fabric when i went to the rag market with a few friends at the end of july.  jenny

sleeveless moneta

moneta; i like this dress sans sleeves. i’ve made the colette moneta a million times (okay maybe 8 times), and each time i like it more and more.  it was the dress that ignited my love for jersey, which i have probably mentioned before. this one is made in a light weight jersey that i got from girl charlee uk.  it was in the sale and i had a voucher

triple hemlock

hi everyone! i’ve been making but not blogging.  boo!  today i have a day off work, and i actually decided to take pictures, yay! i’ve made three hemlock tees (i just typed grainlock initially, haha) in the last couple of weeks.  it’s a free pattern that you get when you sign up to the grainline studio newsletter.  it’s a one size only pattern, which is meant to be oversized.  for

umbrella emery dress

hello! here’s my third emery dress! MAJOR SIDE NOTE:  my darts are not as awfully un-even as they look, i’ve got a MASSIVE crease on the right hand side one lol!  i’ll be damned if i’m taking new pictures again though haha!! it’s made with a michael miller fabric that i got from the NEC sewing show in march.  i’m so glad i went back for it because i reaaaaaaaally

completed – B6168

hello fellow stitchers! my post title looks a little strange today doesn’t it?  a code instead of a pattern name!  that’s because this is the first time i’ve made anything for myself using a “big four” pattern!  i’m using this as the first post where i’ve got pictures wearing my glasses, i’ve embraced them and decided just to get over myself.  it makes a big difference being able to see the

polka dot ensis tee

hello sewing friends! i’ve got something new to show you today – another ensis tee! the last one i made is in regular wardrobe rotation, it’s great.  my favourite colours, with bonus long sleeves. my cousin suggested i should do a lace yoke on one after she saw the original ensis i made, so i popped onto ebay to see what i could find. i saw the polka dot lace

emery number two!

hi everyone! i alluded in my last post to the second emery dress i made, and here is it! the fabric is a seer sucker that i bought from the village haberdashery months ago.  i saw it on sarah’s instagram and had to have it! the fabric texture gives the dress a nice body and the skirt gathers have a really nice structure. i made this one the day after my first
